How to Get the Nutrition that You Need

Nutrition has always been one of those things that is just so overwhelming to me. There are always so many opinions on what type of diet if sufficient, and it seems that things are changing all the time. But how do you get the nutrition that you need?


And it gets even harder as an adult, right? We have crazy lives...we are busy with kids, working the jobs, paying the bills, cleaning the house...and the temptation of sweets and junk food does NOT help.


So here are some tips that will help us get the nutrition we need as crazy busy women! And the best part is, it doesn't matter what your "diet" of choice is...these tips will help you stick to it!

It's Time to Meal Plan


If you're anything like me, meal planning is not my favorite thing. But not only does it help me eat healthier, it keeps me organized, it saves me time, and it saves me money.


Pro Tip: the first step to meal planning is to do an end of the week inventory of your refrigerator and pantry. Prioritize the items in your refrigerator that will go bad within the week and start your meal planning around those items first!

Have SUPER YUMMY Healthy Snacks Ready to Go!


I love to have snacks ready to go for both me and my daughter. Create 1 bin for each person in the family and fill it each morning with the snack allotment of the day. Things like apples, clementines, stringed cheese, trail mix, crackers, granola bars, etc, can go in these bins. Each person gets their own "free for all" snacks for the day! When the snacks are gone...they are gone until the morning. :).



 

Make a Healthy Shake a Part of Your Morning Routine

So let's not get all intense about what diet is right. You will never find the right answer on the internet because every professional has a different opinion. Find what works for you...find what makes you feel energized and ALIVE! Use common sense (like we all know that a salad is healthier than a pizza). Then follow these tips to help make it easier on yourself. And also...indulge in a treat here and there...I mean, no need to get crazy, am I right?
